Ensure a Dry Workspace

Do you want to prevent mould? Recent flood/water damage? Unable to air out the moisture? Dehumidifiers are able to draw the moisture out of the air and from surfaces to ensure a dry space. Mould requires moisture to grow, and removing this will prevent further mould growth. Our room dehumidifiers are able to dry multiple rooms depending on the setup.

How Dehumidifiers Work

Dehumidifiers work by drawing in humid air, cooling it to condense moisture into water and then reheating and releasing the drier air back into the room. The condensed water is collected in a reservoir or drained away. This process lowers humidity levels, which helps to prevent mould growth while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.

Dehumidifier for Mould

These dehumidifiers are perfect for fitting into tight spaces, where mould has a nasty habit of forming. These units are effective in mitigating mould growth by removing moisture from the air and expelling it down a hose to a drain or sink. Mould requires 3 elements to grow: food, water and oxygen. Since mould can metabolise anything organic, and oxygen is everywhere the biggest factor we can control / limit is moisture. Our small dehumidifier can help remove moisture in the environment effectively removing the mould’s ability to grow. We recommend before any drying to fully remove the source of excess moisture, whether it is a leaking pipe / fridge / washing machine or a hole in the roof’s tiles, etc.

Tips & Tricks

One factor to consider with these unit weighs roughly 24-30kg. Please ensure you have the ability to carry this weight. We recommend to use between 2 to 4 fans along with the dehumidifier. This is to help circulate the air in rooms, ensuring the most effective and speedy remediation. With a power draw of less than 4 amps, this category of dehumidifier is perfect for use in residential floods and commercial establishments.

Uses

  • Void Space Dehumidification – e.g. ceiling spaces, cupboards, limited access areas. Due to its compact size, these dehumidifiers work well in spaces where access is limited.
  • Water Damage Restoration – Although small in size, our compact dehumidifiers are designed to be just as efficient as bigger models, and can be reliably used as a dehumidifier for water damage.
  • Corrosion Control – These units will work well with smaller metal objects that require blasting or coating. These dehumidifiers can control the humidity in the environment to enable these works.
  • Structural Drying – As it is classed as a low grain refrigerant, these units can achieve a lower humidity level then non-LGR models. This makes it effective at drying building and structural materials that have deeply bound water in them.

Dehumidifier Hire

Our medium dehumidifier is an ideal all-rounder dehumidifier ready for any situation. It can be used in smaller settings to dry small flood events such as a leaking washing machine but has a large enough capacity to dry those major water damage events such as multistage water damage events in office buildings located in central business districts. This commercial dehumidifier can tackle open areas and has a durable rotomolded polymer chassis that withstand impacts and scratches with ease. This dehumidifier can extract up to 65L-70L of moisture/water from the environment per day!

What Does a Dehumidifier Do?

This LGR dehumidifier takes in the moist air and runs it through freezing coils which bring the air to dew point. The moisture is turned to liquid and drips down to its tank which is auto-pumped periodically down a hose placed in a drain. Lastly, this air is run through a heater to warm the air up in order to increase its capacity to hold moisture, before being pushed out of the unit. In combination with our air movers / carpet dryers / blowers, this creates a system of distribution of dry air, pushing moisture into the air and creating an effective drying cycle. This drying system has been used in the industry for decades as a proven method of effective drying. We recommend that before drying, you remove the source of the excess moisture such as a hole in the roof, a leaking washing machine or a burst flexi-hose. Additionally, water extraction using a portable extraction machine is recommended to rid the area of all free standing water.

Tips & Tricks

One factor to consider with these unit is that you will need 2 people and a van / ute to transport them since they weigh roughly ~40Kg. Also, they cannot be laid down in transport and must be standing up. If this is an issue, then we recommend downsizing to a smaller dehumidifier.

We recommend to use between 2 to 4 fans along with the dehumidifier. This is to help circulate the air in rooms, ensuring the most effective and speedy remediation.

This category of dehumidifier is perfect for use in medium-large residential floods and commercial establishments.

Uses

  • Water damage (carpet and structure) – Especially in combination with air movers, the 70L dehumidifier is perfect for small and large spaces alike. It is able to draw moisture out of the air and from surfaces and air movers help deliver the dried air back to these places, where more moisture is evaporated and picked up by the dehumidifier. This effective drying cycle repeats over and over again.
  • Corrosion control – This unit will suit corrosion control works by lowering the humidity to enable work such as blasting or coating.
  • Construction drying – Using an LGR dehumidifier such as this enables you to remove water from the environment to a lower level than non-LGR units. This makes it perfect for construction drying where water may be more deeply bound than residential water damage.
  • Prevent mould growth – By lowering the humidity in the environment, you can prevent further mould growth.

Dehumidifier Hire

These are some of the highest-performing portable dehumidifiers available for hire in Australia. Perfect for residential water damage; simply place in any larger sized room or in a hallway to help dry down larger areas. Great for water-damaged offices; they are the best value dehumidifier for performance in these situations. Another great application is corrosion control. Just set up your containment. Hire 2 dehumidifiers for the small containment area.

There are other dehumidifiers on the market that may be cheaper to hire. However, they do not have the same performance. You may end up having to hire more units of the competing brands to match the performance of a large Dehum. Having one powerful machine is often much easier to manage and maintain than several smaller dehumidifiers, as well as the cost and energy savings of having one efficient machine.

A handy feature on this unit is the built-in LCD panel where you can set the machine to dry down to a specific relative humidity. This is important because it is a powerful unit, you need to ensure you are not over-drying the premises or you can buckle and damage wooden components inside the room (doors, furniture, etc.).

Commercial Dehumidifier

These dehumidifiers are highly efficient in drying large spaces, with up to 90L per day of water removed in 90% RH environments. This commercial dehumidifier is effective in industrial and commercial settings, where heavy use may be required. It is also highly effective in residential settings. For small spaces, it may be important to use the humidistat control at 40% to prevent potential warping of doors, as this unit may be so effective that it draws moisture from unintended places. 40% is sufficient to remove moisture in the air but leave fixtures such as doors unwarped. These units are compatible with ducting, meaning that you can direct dry air out into the intended space, if the unit is too large or inconvenient to place where it needs to be. It can also be used to set up positive, neutral or negative airing environments.

Features

  • Large dehumidifier up to 90L per day (similar or better)
  • 50kg weight
  • Large wheels & sturdy handle that can be folded down, all for easy transportability
  • Covers large open living spaces, open offices
  • Adjustable humidistat control
  • Auto-draining pump & defrosting features, manual pump control as well
  • For effective drying of spaces 60-85 cubic meters
  • Dri-Eaz LGR LGR7000, IAQ Pro Atlas or similar
